What We Do

HATS accommodation is for individuals over the age of 18* who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or ready to move on from another support provider but still in need of support.

We manage 36 bed spaces over 13 properties within Gainsborough itself and offer each of our residents an average of 2 hours support per week.

HATS offers:

  • A light touch support service tailored to individual needs

  • Support and guidance to manage and maintain your tenancy

  • General independent living skills

  • Help with claiming benefits

  • Budgeting and debt management

Our Housing Officers will visit each of the houses Monday to Friday or you can call into the HATS Community Hub.

* under 18s will be considered as part of a move-on plan from other support services

Our Accommodation

HATS offers modern accommodation in shared houses. Each house is fully furnished, equipped and ready to move into. Residents share the house with 2 or 3 other people but will have their own private bedroom with a lock.

HATS does not offer accommodation to people who need to have staff supervision overnight. So living here means any person referred would need to be fairly independent, be able to be responsible for their own visitors and ensure minimal nuisance to the neighbours.

Should an emergency arise outside of office hours, residents can contact a member of staff through our Out-of-Hours On-Call service.

Housing & Tenancy Support

HATS offers a light touch, non-judgemental support service tailored to the needs of the individual, as well as offer guidance on how to manage and maintain a positive & mutually-agreeable tenancy.

Our Housing Officers visit each of the houses Monday to Friday. Alternatively, tenants can book an appointment through Facebook or call into the HATS Community Hub.

Skills & Employment

Following a person-centred assessment, HATS staff also offer residents support with gaining skills and seeking employment. Our HATS Community Hub gives residents access to computers to assist in accessing further education and employment support.

It has been very helpful with me staying here, this has helped with me having support with budgeting, benefits and job searches.

The project has given me a place to call home and the staff have supported me to regain more of my independence.

Thank you!

The support here has been wonderful. It has made me feel more confident and safe. Overall it is very positive.
